Engagement photos have changed drastically over the years. Gone are the days of the traditional posed in-studio close ups. Couples are now using this opportunity to display their personalities while getting some truly fun photos. Of course, it’s a great way to add some variety to the photos hanging on your wall and we love getting to know our couples beforetheir big day, but… do you want to know the most valuable reason to have engagement photos? in love with one another and deciding that you want to be together forever are both pretty important milestones in your lives.

All too often, it seems as though once someone says “yes!” to the proposal, there is a crazy amount ofpressure put on the couple to plan the “perfect wedding.” Weddings are not cheap, they are a huge event to plan, and they usually involve the whole family (which is wonderful, but can also be stressful).  With everything going on and the added work for the couple (planning, creating, shopping),engagements can become sort of a blur. It’s important to step back and remember what all the nuptial planning is really for – the start of your life together.  You found each other and fell in love. That’s something worth celebrating and not just on your wedding day. I could sit here and tell you all about how important it is to get to know your photographer before hand and to see how you look in photos, etc., but the truth is that it’s not about us. It’s about YOU. We

aren’t the ones living your lives. We are not creating your legacy. We are the ones who document it for you, though, by creating stunning images you’ll also be in love with for decades to come.
