Wedding Wednesday: Flowers {Rapid City Wedding Photography}

Spring is here, the grass is turning green and wedding season has already begun!  This brings us to our inaugural Wedding Wednesday, where we bring real, fresh wedding ideas to you. You’ll want to check back each week for new inspiration on different wedding details (and feel free to ‘pin’ anything you love). This week is all about the blooms!

All flowers are beautiful, but REAL flowers are my favorite (both for the smell and to photograph). Of course, there are nearly endless choices for wedding arrangements. Finding out what types of blooms are in season during your celebration is a good place to begin. Choosing a florist to work with will also help you significantly. A skilled florist (and we know a few!) will be able to help you design a bouquet that will not only look fabulous & compliment your dress, but they also know which flowers will stay looking fresh & vibrant throughout your entire day. Keep in mind that your arrangements also help to set the tone of your wedding. For example, while roses are rather traditional, something like sunflowers can help create the mood for country wedding.

Almost every wedding we photograph has floral details of some kind, yet nearly each one is as distinct as the couple themselves. I love to see all the different ways brides & grooms incorporate flowers into their day, whether it’s a simple & elegant mason jar full of wild flowers or a grand Gatsby-inspired centerpiece. It’s probably the one universal detail that can truly be altered to match almost any budget, color pallet or style.

As promised, here are some gorgeous flowers from real Legacy brides & grooms:

Flowers from Jenny’s Floral

Flowers from Bent Willow Designs

Flowers from Susan at Roots Floral

Flowers from Victoria’s Garden
