Evie’s Ear Part 5 Day: 2
We started the day off by driving to the wrong location (like 40 minutes out of our way). I saw many, many super cool urban photoshoot locations so maybe I’ll come back to those 🙂 Also..I am not good with metered interstate entrances and round-a-bouts are ridiculous.
Once we finally got to the right place they got started right away making a mold of where her new ear will go. They also took the protective disc off and put on the ends that the magnets will attract to. It was a short visit for us but a long day for our Anaplastologist. She spent the day making an ear out of wax from which to build Evie’s final ear. As Evie put it . . . a rough draft. Tomorrow she gets to try that on and begin the process of making the silicone ear.
Since we were done at 1030 for the day we went shopping 😉
What she looked like when we left this morning
taking the disc off and discussing the tools (also talking about monster high at this point too)
long post goes into her abutments to show the location of magnets (those came off)
ooey-gooey mold material
Mold done, magnetic ends in . . . this is what her “ear” with out her new ear will always look like now.
